CURWX:
This satellite image is a good overall look at the U.S. for major storms brewing across the country showing both the highs and lows and their associated warm and cold fronts.   You can track the storms from day to day and watch them move toward your area.
SAT_IR_RAD:
This image combines both the inferred from the satellite and the radar images from major storm areas across the country. It will give a good indication of where the heavy precipitation is taking place. The more yellow and red the more intense the storm.
Latest_ALB_ir
This is a close up of the northeast corner of the U.S. from the Albany, N.Y district office. The false coloring of the inferred image indicates the amount of humidity in the cloud cover. Dark red is very dry and indicates clear skies. The darker the blue the more water content in the clouds and is where precipitation may be taken place.
Latest_ALB_vis:
This is the same image as the ir one of the northeast, but shows the actual visual image of the cloud cover. The lighter shaded clouds indicate more moisture. Some real pretty patterns can show up from cirrus and auto cumulus clouds going over. Now you know what the other side of the clouds look like.
BURLINGTON RADAR:
This image is from the Burlington, Vermont Dopular Radar. It gets real coloriful when the weather starts getting interesting. And can give you an idea where things are beginning to pop around the surrounding states. The color bar at the left side of the image indicates increasing dopular returns. It's handy in the summer for spotting thunderbumpers.
Latest_US_wv:
This is the goes satellite water vaper image. It covers all of the U.S. and the southern half of Canada. It is a large file and takes longer to download, but comes in handy for giving the intensity of large storms in your area. Once the coloring gets up into the light shades of green and starts getting dark green, your in for it. Reds indicate the dry side.
Goes_enam
Another Goes satellite image. This one shows the storms out in the north Atlantic and the northern Caribbean. Gives a good view of the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada and shows where those big storms we get, go to when their through with us.
JET STREAM:
Pay attention to the jet stream flow. Low pressure cells follow the jet stream. And many times are spond off from it. If the jet stream is in your area and a storm is brewing down wind, there's a good chance it will come your way; or at least close by.
ANALYSIS CHART:
Want to see all the storms that are brewing from Alaska clean across the north pole to Greenland, and down into the southern U.S. and out into the Pacific Ocean. This is the chart to keep your eye on if your really into the weather, watching isobars and following their trends. The tighter the isobars the more intense the storm. This is where your windy days come from. Stuck between a deep departing low and an incoming intensive high.
